ODG's aim is to encourage local communities, landowners and other organisations throughout the Scottish Borders to restore, promote and celebrate local orchards, ecologies and culture. However, we cannot do this by providing consultancy services (paid or unpaid!); the committee are all volunteers, working to further the aims of ODG in their spare time.

Rather, we go about our task partly via talks, lectures, and publications (including this website), and by offering informal advice.

The main thing, though, is Crailing Community Orchard itself. If you're local, we hope you'll get involved long term.

If you're from another part of the Borders, and have plans for an orchard in your area, come to some of our work days, learn from our experience and share your knowledge with us. Hopefully, that will inform and inspire your restoration project, and create an enduring relationship of mutual benefit to both our organisations, and to our orchards.
